What’s a PABI?

PABI is short for The Preservation Association of Beaver Island, a non-profit Michigan corporation that is the owner and operator of the Beaver Island Community Center and WVBI, the island’s community radio station. PABI is managed by and all volunteer Board of Directors.  Volunteers help staff the BIC Center, run our shows, show our movies and move music on our radio station.  We’d love to have you join our volunteer team.

NO taxes are levied to support the BIC Center or WVBI.  PABI’s annual membership request to households and businesses is its major source of operating revenue. Other operating income comes from the sale of goods and services, event fees, occasional small grants, and PABI fund-raisers.  As a small non-profit organization on a remote Lake Michigan Island—we need and treasure every PABI Member.  Because PABI is qualified as a 501(c)(3) organization, your contributions may be deductible as a charitable contribution.

No matter how you choose to enjoy the BIC Center, we think you’ll find that it is the heart of our great community.  And, it’s where your island adventure begins.
