The BIC Center is happy to share one of these with you this week. ‘Heartland Sings’ is a vocal performance ensemble currently on retreat here on Beaver Island. They will be conducting an ‘impromptu concert’ at the BIC Center on Friday, September 8 at 4:30pm, with proceeds benefiting the BIC Center. Their way of showing appreciation for our beautiful Island and supporting the arts so vital to their mission. Patrons of the concert can also receive a ‘special bonus’ of 10% Off their dinner entree at the Shamrock Bar and Restaurant Friday night with the presentation of their concert ticket. An incredible (and affordable) evening of entertainment and dining for the whole family. September on the Island is special, indeed.
Stay tuned as September brings back weekly Pickle-ball starting Tuesday, September 12, the Charlevoix County Commission on Aging monthly Sunday Dinners starting Sunday, September 24, and a special AARP Driver Safety Course on Tuesday, September 19.

What’s at the BIC Center?
Deb and Ken McDonald Visitor Center
The Deb and Ken McDonald Visitor Center is a great place to get information, grab a snack, connect to Wi-Fi and kick off your island adventure. It’s also home to the island’s community radio station…our very own WVBI-The Voice of Beaver Island.
Ray and Ann Stanhope Theater
The Ray and Ann Stanhope Theater is the premier performance space on the island hosting music of all genres, dance, theater productions, seminars and community meetings.
The Carol’s Hang Out upstairs offers an informal gathering place for meetings, reading, pool, foosball, board games, video games, TV, using our community PCs and printer, and … just hanging out.
