We’ve got a full plate of treats at your Community Center the week of June 9-15, from brain games to a special culinary event, which we’ll lead with first: on Saturday at 6 PM, Long Road Distillery and Bodega Catering present Fresh & New Flavors for Spring, a refined evening of Batch Cocktails and Summer Menu ideas. Perfectly pairing five courses chosen and prepared by chef Vicky Fingeroot with five specialty Cocktails created by Long Road, this event is a hand-selected dining experience that will touch and stimulate every sense. As an added bonus, attendees will take home a copy of the menus and cocktail recipes.The theater will open at 5:30, and serving begins at 6:00. This is a Ticketed Reserved-Seat Event with all seats at $95, and seating selection made at checkout. As always, tickets are available at store.biccenter.org.Earlier in the week on Monday at 5 PM is our weekly summer movie, this time the PG-13 adventure-fantasy Damsel, in which the heroine agrees to marry a handsome prince only to find the royal family has recruited her as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt. Concessions and meals available, and a freewill donation encouraged.
On Tuesday from 10 AM-2 PM, the Charlevoix County Veterans Affairs Office will be holding hours in our lobby. Later that day at 6 PM is Let’s Get Quizzical! Trivia Night, our only trivia game this month. For the summer, teams of no more than 6 must register a table for $25.00 at our ticket page. This is a BYOB event, and feel free to bring a dish to share or snacks for your table.
On Saturday from 10:00 AM -12:00 PM is our “Dads Rock!” Father’s Day event. All you Dads out there will be able to enjoy a continental breakfast of fruit, pastries, and refreshing drinks while helping your kid(s) participate in our rock painting pour craft as well as a rock star guitar activity.
