More Celtic-oriented events are in store at your Community Center this week, with details found on the Community Calendar. This Tuesday at 6:00 PM is another round of our ever-popular Let’s Get Quizzical! Trivia Night, with at least one round focusing on Irish subjects. It’s BYOB, and feel free to bring a snack – and remember to register your team of no more than six at store.biccenter.org beforehand. Depending on registration numbers, the games will take place either in the Hangout or auditorium, so stay tuned to our social media pages for updates. And please remember to place your food orders in advance of arrival so staff can make your meal and join in the competition.
Wednesday’s 5:00 PM Time for Art showcases Diamond Painting led by Shirley Cole. A combination of cross-stitch and paint-by-numbers, an applicator is used to apply hundreds of sparkling resin rhinestones onto an adhesive color-coded canvas painting, resulting in a vivid, shimmering work of art. $5.00 donation for those under 60, and again, please call in your food orders before arrival if possible.
There’s a free CPR/AED defibrillator class at 6:30 PM Thursday in the auditorium, sponsored by the BI EMS. Please call the BIC Center at 231-448-2022 to register, or visit our counter in-person. Class size is limited and participants must be 18+.
On Saturday BIC Center has shortened hours of 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM to accommodate the St. Pat’s games on Main Street and at the Shamrock, but in that time frame we’re hosting Shamrocks and Shenanigans, kid-friendly St. Patricks Day activities that include the following: we’ll be “painting” Main Street using sidewalk chalk and holiday-themed stencils. What’s more, we will be offering face-painting, tattoos and hair dying for any kids that were not able to get theirs done at the school the day before. There will be snacks and drinks to enjoy throughout the event. (No Saturday movies due to the shortened ours.)
See you this week at your Community Center!
